To commemorate Fire Prevention Week, Katonah Fire Department hosted an in-person open house Sunday, with equipment demonstrations, hands-on activities, fire truck rides, and the highlight--setting fire to a small wooden structure loaded with furniture, and extinguishing it in front of the crowd. The clouds and occasional rain didn't do much to discourage people, as a steady stream came through between 11 AM and 2 PM. We were glad to be able to hold an in-person open house to remind people of the importance of fire prevention and fire safety!
