An early morning ice storm turned area roads into skating rinks, resulting in numerous rollovers, spinouts, and other motor vehicle accidents. Katonah Fire Department volunteers responded to multiple such incidents in the span of a 40 minute period. Fortunately, none of the accidents resulted in serious injury. KFD members established safe zones and assisted EMTs. Later on during the day KFD responded to an alarm sounding from an unoccupied residence. Upon arrival car 2211 located smoke in the residence which was determined to be burning food left on the stove.
