At Monday night's weekly drill, KFD members trained on our new forcible entry prop. The forcible entry prop is a door within a frame that can be repeatedly "locked" and secured with wooden shims. Members can then take turns using various hand tools such as Halligan bars and axes to force the door open and gain entry . The prop, manufactured by East Coast Rescue Solutions, was purchased by the department about two months ago after extensive research. We are truly impressed with the effort ECRS put into making an amazing product. It's a great way to hone skills firefighters need to quickly and safely enter a building to attack a fire or perform search and rescue.
