Katonah Fire Department announces the passing of 73-plus year member Warren Shilling. Warren joined KFD in 1948 while the firehouse was still located on Katonah Avenue (now called "The Old Firehouse Building"). Warren was a staple in every KFD parade, riding in the car with the rest of the 50-plus year members. He was always a smiling, happy face at our annual inspection. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Warren was able to convince Bedford Town Supervisor E.T. Barrett to sign documents enabling him to enlist in the Navy at age 17. He will be sorely missed.
