Boiler Issue on Katonah Avenue

A report of black smoke coming from a roof on Katonah Avenue brought out KFD volunteers around 8 AM Wednesday morning. Car 2213, along with Engine 116, Ladder 39 and Engine 115 responded to 33 Katonah Avenue to investigate. The black smoke was caused by a a small fire contained to the furnace that also resulted in a haze spreading throughout the building. Firefighters secured the furnace and extinguished the fire. Units were back in service by about 9:45 AM.
